The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has arrested two students, Nabahinda Cecilia and Nakiyomba Grace, on suspicion of cheating during their exams.
The students were apprehended in the Masaka area, but UNEB has not disclosed their current location.
Sources stated that the student were caught possessing a mobile phone in ana examination room which is totally against UNEB guidelines and laws.
UNEB spokesperson, Jennifer Musamba, called on examination authorities to increase their vigilance to prevent exam malpractice.
She emphasized UNEB’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of exams and assured that those found guilty of cheating will face appropriate consequences, stating, “We will not spare anyone if found guilty of cheating.”
The board’s strict measures aim to uphold fairness and credibility within Uganda’s national examination system.
Musamba’s reminder to examination officials highlights the importance of adhering to regulations and ensuring all students have an equal opportunity to succeed.
UNEB’s stance serves as a warning to students and schools that examination malpractice will not be tolerated and that strict action will be taken against those who attempt to compromise the integrity of national exams.
