The Government has launched the 2024/2025 National Budget Month.

The Ministry of Finance has launched the National Budget Month, which will last for a month to educate the public on the contents of the budget for the next fiscal year 2024
The 72 trillion budget will focus on four areas, including industrial development, tourism, science and technology and natural resources.
Other priorities , include improving education, health, job creation, road construction, rehabilitation of dilapidated facilities, railways, and the construction of the Uganda Gadge Railway.
Others include universal access to clean water, electricity, increased investment in infrastructure, universal prosperity programme, emyoga, Parish Development Model, and more.
The Chief Organizer of the Ministry of Finance, Ramadhan Ggoobi, said the budget will be disseminated to the public in languages ​​understood by the public, through the media, and to get their views.
He said they will use the budget to show taxpayers where their money is going, and explain the new Efris tax system.
However, amidst the launch of the budget month, at the Serana Hotel in Kampala, Deputy Minister for Investment Evenly Anite, has lashed out at corrupt officials in the government.
Evelyn Anite urged the government to further relax the laws that punish corruption, and urged Ugandans to participate directly in the fight against corruption by exposing those who eat it.
