Today marks a special milestone for one of Uganda’s most celebrated female artists, Sheebah Kalungi, as she turns 35.

Born prematurely at just seven months, Sheebah’s journey is a testament to resilience and divine intervention.

Her mother, who faced early labor in Mijjeera without the resources to visit a hospital, improvised a way to keep her newborn warm.

This cleverness and strength ensured Sheebah survived and grew into the superstar she is today.

Over the years, Sheebah has become one of Uganda’s most beloved performers, with multiple albums and a strong fan base.

Just recently, she held the Neyanziza Concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval, drawing massive crowds.

It was during this concert that Sheebah shared personal news that touched the hearts of many—she revealed she is expecting her first child.

Reflecting on her journey

Sheebah expressed how the past three years have been pivotal, filled with lessons and blessings.

“If my character was weak and inconsistent, I would’ve lost myself,” she said.

Despite the challenges, she remains grateful and hopeful for the future.

As she prepares for the arrival of her baby, whom she lovingly calls her “Little Bird,” Sheebah admits to feeling nervous about labor but remains optimistic.

“I’ve always prayed for a baby at 35, and boom! In a few, I will be holding my Little Bird in my hands,” she shared.

Sheebah attributes her unwavering strength to her faith, saying, “With God by my side, I am always ready for anything.”
