Six people have been killed in a road accident in Ntungamo.

Six people were killed in a head-on collision on the Ntungamo-Rukungiri road when vehicles overturned.

The accident happened at 12am.

A Toyota Hiance No.UBN 337H and bus no. UAP 385U is an Isuzu from Kasaaba.

Police said investigations showed that vehicle No. The UBN 377H was traveling from Rukungiri to Ntungamo when it lost its tire and the driver turned it to the side of the road, but left all the lights on.

Bus No. The UAP 385U was traveling from Kampala to Rukungiri when it derailed and collided with a truck, killing six people including the driver, conductor and a police officer.

Local traffic police officers were called and the survivors were rushed to Devine Health center and Ntungamo specialist medical centres.

The deceased were taken to Rwashameire health center iv for further examination, while the vehicles involved in the accident are being kept at Ntungamo police station.

Traffic police spokesman Micheal Kananura said investigations were ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident
