Alien Skin Joins Forces with Mathias Mpuuga to Advocate for Ugandan Youths

Updates :Renowned Ugandan musician Patrick Mulwana, a.k.a Alien Skin, has announced his support for Nyendo-Mukungwe Member of Parliament (MP) Mathias Mpuuga in championing the welfare of Uganda’s youth.

Alien Skin formalized a political alliance with Mpuuga, the former Leader of the Opposition (LoP), during an event that also highlighted societal challenges.

Alien Skin’s Message on Morality and Justice

Using the platform to address pressing societal issues, Alien Skin delivered a powerful message about morality and justice.

If you have your relative in prison, get time and pray for him. Not everyone who is in prison has committed a crime, and it is not that whoever is not in prison is not a sinner,” he said.

Alien Skin also shared personal experiences, drawing a parallel between his own past legal troubles and allegations faced by Mpuuga.

“I was accused of stealing a phone, and my elder [Mpuuga] was also accused of stealing Shs 500 million. So, birds of the same feather… [flock together],” he remarked, sparking mixed reactions among listeners.

Mpuuga’s Vision for Justice and Unity

While avoiding direct commentary on Alien Skin’s statements, Mpuuga emphasized the broader goals of their alliance.

He described the Democratic Alliance (DA), his newly unveiled political platform, as a vehicle for unity, justice, and dignity for all Ugandans.

“The Democratic Alliance is a platform for unity and justice. We aim to restore dignity to Ugandans and bring about the change this country desperately needs,” Mpuuga explained.

Launch of the Democratic Alliance

On December 6, Mpuuga officially launched the Democratic Alliance (DA) as a civic platform, with plans to evolve into an electoral entity ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Addressing supporters and former members of the National Unity Platform (NUP) and the Democratic Party (DP), he outlined the DA’s objectives.

“In a few months, we are consulting; it will be an electoral platform,” Mpuuga stated. He emphasized the need to redefine politics in Uganda, particularly for the youth.

“I have proposed reforms in our electoral system. I have also proposed reforms and amendments in our constitution.

Some people are asking, ‘Why is he the one bringing the reforms?’ My question is, why haven’t you brought them?” he asked.

Addressing Uganda’s Challenges

Mpuuga painted a grim picture of the nation’s state, calling for unity to address the country’s challenges.

“This country is a suffering nation. It is a sick country. People are sick, tired, and injured.

People need healing, and it must come from our common unity of purpose to deliver one single mission—saving the country from the abyss,” he said.

Fallout with NUP and New Beginnings

Mpuuga’s move to establish the DA comes months after a fallout with the NUP, leading to his suspension.

He faced allegations of corruption and abuse of office after allegedly receiving a Shs 500 million “service reward” from Parliament.

Despite the fallout, Mpuuga dismissed the allegations as a smear campaign by individuals with personal interests.

He reiterated the DA’s openness to collaborate with all political entities, including the NUP.

“The Democratic Alliance remains open to collaboration with all parties, including the Kavule-based NUP, regardless of past differences,” he assured.

A New Hope for Uganda’s Youth

With the alliance between Alien Skin and Mpuuga, the Democratic Alliance is positioning itself as a beacon of hope for Uganda’s youth.

Their shared vision for justice, unity, and meaningful reform sets the stage for a transformative political journey as the nation gears up for the 2026 general elections.
