Minister Baram Meets Gashumba to Resolve Social Media Dispute

Minister Baram Meets Gashumba to Resolve Social Media Dispute.

In a meeting, the Minister of State for Gender, Labour, and Social Development (Youth and Children Affairs), Baram Barugahara, expressed a conciliatory attitude towards Frank Gashumba following a recent social media altercation.
The incident began when Gashumba posted a tweet on “X” (formerly Twitter), in which he raised concerns about security and involved the current Chief of Defense Forces (CDF).
The PLU group had proposed summoning Frank Gashumba to Naggulu for questioning regarding his remarks. However, Minister Baram quickly intervened, arranging an urgent meeting with Gashumba on Tuesday, the 27th, in the middle of the night. The meeting appeared to be fruitful, as Gashumba assured Minister Baram that he would cease his critical posts on social media platforms.
Minister Baram emphasized the importance of unity, stating that they are part of the same group and should not be in conflict with one another. He highlighted that their primary focus should be serving President Yoweri Museveni and the CDF, Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
In his remarks, Minister Baram quoted former American President Abraham Lincoln: “I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have.” Baram’s use of this quote underscored his commitment to integrity and truth in their shared mission.
