NRM Leaders in Namayingo District Back Museveni for 2026 Re-Election

Updates: NRM leaders in Namayingo District have expressed their strong support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to run for re-election in the upcoming 2026 elections.

During a gathering yesterday at the launch of the Namayumba Youth Empowerment SACCO, the leaders emphasized Museveni’s achievements in transforming Uganda’s economy and improving the livelihoods of its citizens.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Barbara Nekesa Oundo highlighted the importance of agriculture as a tool for eradicating poverty.

She encouraged Ugandans, especially the youth, to embrace modern agricultural practices to create sustainable income and uplift their communities.

Nekesa also advised residents to strengthen settlements on their land and avoid land fragmentation, which could undermine productivity and economic growth.

She emphasized that secure and united land ownership is key to long-term development.

The event was attended by numerous NRM leaders, youth representatives, and community members from various regions of the country.

Participants expressed their gratitude for initiatives like the Namayumba Youth Empowerment SACCO, which aim to empower young people and create opportunities for financial independence.

The leaders reiterated their commitment to supporting President Museveni in the upcoming elections, citing his consistent efforts to drive Uganda’s progress and stability.

They pledged to rally support for him in Namayingo and beyond.

This gathering showcased the growing support for NRM leadership and its vision for Uganda’s continued development, particularly in empowering the youth to take charge of their economic futures.
