NUP President has been denied access to Pallisa by police.
Police have once again prevented NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu from reaching the party supporters, blocking him on Ssezzibwa Road as he headed to Pallisa district.
Kyagulanyi and his fellow leaders were stopped at Ssezibwa and ordered to return to Kampala, until they had reached an agreement with the security forces and were given permission to tour the country as a political party.
They tried to force the police to fire tear gas at them, a day later and prevented them from going to Kamuli where they were holding a rally.
The NUP leader, Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, said the current actions against them are acts of violence in an attempt to prevent them from reaching out to the people.
At a press conference at the NUP headquarters in Makerere Kavule after being prevented from continuing to Pallisa, he said they had reached their headquarters when the Uganda Police Force had written them a letter containing conditions aimed at preventing them.
Among the conditions Police have ordered gatherings to be held inside buildings, police must know the number of people they are going to meet and other conditions.
Police have similarly summoned the party leaders to meet with police chiefs, and Kyagulanyi has canceled another rally in Toro ,and a rally in Mityana
