The President of the National Unity Platform NUP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, Bobi Wine, has opened the party offices in Kalagi area heading towards Mukono constituency.
In his massage while addressing the crowd, he warned his supporters to always peaceful and never warned the party members not to deviate from the cause.
Kyagulanyi Ssentamu opened the offices amidst a crowd of people waiting for him in the Kalagi area where he was told to pass after the police denied him from using the main path to Mukono.
He also warned his followers not to engage in illegal activities but to stay on track.
Kyagulanyi Ssentamu continued to Mukono district where he was supposed to open the party office in Mukono town centre, but was not allowed by security forces, saying it would disrupt activities and traffic.
He held the rally at Ntaawo grounds, where hundreds of supporters gathered, and where he said Mukono district was the most hijacked by his supporters with the intention of discouraging them.
He told them that much more would be done to them including bribery, but they should not forget the goal of changing the country.
Opposition Leader Joel Ssenyonyi has condemned law enforcement agencies for preventing them from planning as a party, while other politicians are free to move about. Ssenyonyi further stated that during their meeting with the police at Naggulu, the Uganda police assured them that they would not interfere in their activities or block them from going where they wished.
However, they suddenly encountered a police roadblock ahead of them, indicating that the police had not kept their word. Nonetheless, the session proceeded without the use of tear gas and gunfire, unlike previous occasions.
