UPDF Reports on Terrorist Killed in Mityana.
The UPDF said the deceased was identified as Ddamulira Yasin, whom security forces had been tracking.
Ddamulira Yasin was shot dead in a UPDF operation on 28 May,2024, in the 2021 bombings that killed six people and injured more than 30 others.
Law enforcement had been tracking him and hurting his phone to communicate with his colleagues, until they reached him in the Mityana area.
The UPDF soldiers found him in his rented apartment at Kambaala village, and that they found him with his gun and which he was trying to use to exchange fire with his captors, they overpowered him and shot him dead.
Residents said the man had just settled in their area 2 months ago, rented land to grow tomatoes, and had come with a boy between the ages of 8 -1
The UPDF said that following the 2021 bombings at the Police Headquarters and Parliamentary Avenue, investigations revealed that Musa Kabanda, known as Akman, led the plot, and he was arrested.
Kabanda was arrested by Ddamulira Yasin, Abaasi Ssekimpi, who was arrested and is on bail, and Nsubuga Sulaiman, who was arrested on April 27,
Ddamulira was also being tracked until May 28, 2024, when the UPDF in collaboration with the Anti-Terrorism Police located him but he was shot dead.
Deputy UPDF spokesperson Col. Deo Akiiki said there were still others being hunted until they were released, and urged Ugandans to cooperate with all law enforcement agencies if they suspect anyone in their areas.
