Buddu Ssaza are the champions of the 2024 Masaza Cup, securing their third title in a hard-fought final against Kyaggwe at Mandela National Stadium, “Namboole”.
This victory marked Buddu’s third title in the prestigious tournament after playing seven finals, solidifying their legacy in the Masaza Cup.
The winning goal for Buddu came early in the first half, scored by Micheal Walaga, who capitalized on a well-placed cross from team captain Ssebulime Pius.
Walaga’s clinical finish therefore decided the game, showcasing Buddu’s ability to convert chances under pressure.
Despite the loss, Kyaggwe played commendable football, dominating possession and displaying accurate passing throughout the game.
Unfortunately, they struggled to convert their opportunities, missing several chances that could have turned the tide in their favor.
In the second half, Coach Mutono intensified Kyaggwe’s attacking efforts by introducing record-signing Yusuf Mukwana to boost their striking force. However, Buddu’s defense held strong, preserving their narrow lead until the final whistle.

Earlier in the day, Buwekula faced Kyadondo in the third-place playoff, where Buwekula triumphed with a convincing 3-1 win after 90 minutes of intense play, securing the bronze medal in the tournament.
