Travis Mutyaba has been officially unvailed to Bordeaux in France
Travis Mutyaba, the skillful Ugandan left playmaker, has long been a fan favorite, known for his remarkable talent on the pitch. His extraordinary performances with the Uganda Cranes and several prestigious clubs have consistently showcased his brilliance as a player. Today, he achieved a major career milestone, breaking through to European football.
Mutyaba, who parted ways with his former club Zamalek at the end of last season, has been without a team since then.
One of Mutyaba’s most iconic moments came at Namboole Stadium, where he scored a thunderous goal against Morocco in a crucial match. His electrifying play during that game is still talked about with reverence.
Before his stint at Zamalek, Travis had already made waves in the Uganda Premier League with a sensational run while playing for SC Villa, where his fabulous skills and playmaking ability earned him widespread acclaim.
Now, as he embarks on this new chapter in Europe, Ugandans are hopeful that he will continue to shine on the international stage. His journey from the Uganda Premier League to European football is a testament to his perseverance, skill, and undeniable talent.
Travis Mutyaba has signed a three-year contract with Girondins Bordeaux, leaving Egypt’s Zamalek, where he had initially joined on a four-year deal. However, he departed early after receiving the opportunity to play in Europe.
Bordeaux, a club founded in 1881, has won the Ligue 1 title six times. Mutyaba joins the French team directly from the Uganda Hippos camp, currently based at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru, where they are preparing for the upcoming African Cup of Nations Under-20 qualifiers.
