Eight teams have qualified for the quarterfinals of the 2024 Buganda Masaza Cup. Record champion Gomba lions and defending champion Bulemeezi remain in the groups following a poor start of the two teams.

Eight of the best Masaza teams have advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2024 Buganda State Football Championship, after the group stage was concluded.

The three groups; Bulange, Muganzirwazza and Masengere having produced fancy and competitive football, we experienced some shocking results from different groups.

The loss in match day one at Kabulasoke Core PTC when the hosts (Gomba) lost to Kyaggwe 2-0 in a dramatic game.

Even when Gomba visited Ssingo at Ssaza grounds Mityana, Ssingo won by 4-0 a game that determined the fate of Coach Frank Mulindwa. After the game, they (Gomba & Mulindwa) parted ways which opened the gates of coach Nassib and Coach Kyeswa.

Draw specialist Coach Felix Ssekabuuza, former Gomba Ssaza coach of last campaign, he drew three of his first games but he later on bounced back and managed to top the group with 20 points.

In the Bulange group; Buddu under the hands of Coach Dunga or Simon Dungu managed to qualify with Kyadondo. Despite a sweet start and fancy playing structure, Buluuli followed by Butambala, Bugerere and Bulemeezi had no chance to qualify.

In the Muganzirwazza group; Buweekula, Ssingo and Kyaggwe went through as Buwekula topped the group followed by Ssingo, Kyaggwe after correcting 15 points, they managed to go through as the best looser team. Mawogola, Gomba and Kkooki dropped out.

In the Masengere group; Busujju, Kabula and Mawokota managed to qualify while Busiro, Buvuma and Ssese were eliminated. In record, this is the first time for Busujju to top the group. It left them excited waiting for the next level.

The 10th match day saw, Bulange group results, Buddu drew 1-1 with Buluuli, Kyadondo beat Bulemeezi 4-2 in a dramatic comeback. Bulemezi got a lead with two goals however things turned against their favour. Bugerere drew 0-0 with Butambala.
