Masaza Cup MatchDay2 Ssingo Trashes Gomba.
The Buganda Masaza tournament match day two ended today, Sunday 7/7/2024, with an amazing display of plays, thrilling goals, twists and turns, as well adding salt in the wound for the visitors (Gomba) now at the bottom of the table after match day two.
Five-time champions, the Gomba Lions, were thrashed by Ssingo at Mityana Ssaza grounds with a score of 4-0. Joseph Ssewali opened the scoring in the first half, giving the home team (Ssingo) the lead. Before the break, Ssewali doubled the lead with his brace, taking Ssingo into halftime with a 2-0 advantage.
As it was the case in their opening fixture with Kyagwe, goalkeeper Sulaiman Mugera conceded two easy goals to his team, Gomba.
Due to his consistent mistakes, he was substituted in the Second half after Singo converted there fourth goal in an empty net.
After game day two, Gomba has now conceded six goals under coach Frank Mulindwa.
Buddu Ssaza managed to secure their first win after a controversial penalty in the second half.
Joseph Kayondo, former Mawokota defender last season, converted the penalty, putting the ball in the net and setting his team in the lead.
Referee Ssemmere’s decision ultimately gave the home team the win as Coach Dunga’s boys won by one goal to nil.

Coach Simon Peter Mugerwa’s first campaign in any Ssaza team, he has managed to win a trophy, Buddu, Bulemeezi among others, what will Ssingo hold after the end of the season?
Last season champions Bulemeezi have also lost their second game in row.
