The army and police are still in Lubigi Nansana Ganda , to calm the residents whose houses were demolished, who were protesting against the tear gas attack.
The wetlands department demolished all the houses in the area, whose owners allegedly settled in the wetlands and built houses in them.
The massive deployment of security forces followed opposition MPs, led by Joel Ssenyonyi, who went to condole with the victims.
The residents said the tear gas and shooting in the air was unnecessary, as they had to take their issues to the MPs so that they could help them.
Opposition Leader Joel Ssenyonyi condemned the tear gas attack and urged the security forces to depoliticize the issue.
The MPs Nakimuli Hellen ,Abubakar Kawalya,Mukasa Alozius,Betty Ethel Naluyima and others said what was done to the people of Nansana Ganda will increase crime in Kampala and surrounding areas.
